Peace in the Prairie spotlight on The Flora Conservancy of Forest Park

Saint Louis Story Stitchers Artists Collective presents Peace in the Prairie, an original presentation exploring the concepts of peace and violence, juxtaposing urban life as experienced by black and brown people living in the city of St. Louis, Missouri and the state’s endangered prairie lands.

Is the path towards peace through Missouri’s native prairies?

The Flora Conservancy of Forest Park is a volunteer organization that, in partnership with the City of St. Louis, plants and maintains floral displays throughout Forest Park. This organization offers area gardeners a unique opportunity to help the St. Louis Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry preserve the gardens in Forest Park.

The Flora Conservancy of Forest Park, established in 1999, is a not-for-profit organization in partnership with the St. Louis Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry. Its mission is to design, enhance and maintain the gardens, savannah and prairies as outlined in the Master Plan of Forest Park. The organization is comprised of a dedicated group of volunteers who work in the park each week.

The table of The Flora Conservancy from 10:00-2:00 will offer a selection of garden plants including several native plants. They will also have several of their Flora items for sale including Floral notecards, ornaments, Tulip Festival Posters and Forest Park Pop up books.

Flora Conservancy volunteers will share their mission, scope of work in the park and share information about volunteer opportunities and their upcoming plant sale at the city greenhouses in the park.

The Flora Conservancy is a 100% volunteer group partnering with the city greenhouse/horticultural staff. Money raised by The Flora Conservancy is used to support Forest Park.
