Harold is a high school senior in St. Louis Public School District.and a business intern at Saint Louis Story Stitchers. Harold has integrated into the Story Stitchers and is working on a creating a business plan. He also works on paperwork and research. He was interviewed by Producer Anne-Marie Berger from Nine Network of Public Media at the Sheldon Art Galleries where Story Stitchers exhibition is on view until April 21, 2018.
Here are just a couple of his thoughts from the interview:
“After attending different performances I realize how important it is to bring awareness to the different situations. It’s important for youth to have a voice because we often are not heard enough.”
“I’ve met a lot of different people and when I say different I really mean in a good way.. They’ve really opened my eyes to show me not to judge people for what you see. Because inside they can be really creative and I don’t think people should be judged. That’s a lesson I’ve learned. A lot of people see a black kid walking down the street and think they might be trying to harm something or be destructive but really its a swirl of creativity in their head that can be put to good use and that’s what Story Stitchers does.”
