17 people were killed today.

At least 14 people were injured.

The 19 year old shooter today was armed with an AR-15 rifle.

Americans buy 1 million and a half AR-15 rifles each year.

Americans buy 6 million cars each year.

SWAT teams can get to an emergency situation in 2-3 minutes.

The AR-15 can unload a 30-round magazine in seconds.

There have been over 180 mass shootings in America since 2009.


What can we do?


Demand reasonable gun laws.

Support training for emergency responders and police.

Support mental health trauma training and better mental health accessibility.

Support strengthening school security.

Support school personnel training.

Mentor a youth.

Read to a child.

Support organizations that work with youth.

Register your legal weapon.

Report missing weapons.

Unload and lock your legal weapon.

Ask friends, families, parents if their guns are stored unloaded and locked.
