Story Stitchers have been working to audition and curate the 2nd Annual Benefit Concert, The Weight of Words, over the past month. And it’s almost here!!

The show will feature local favorites DJ Pome, pianist Ron Robinson and poet Dadishi Buchannon plus Story Stitchers’ own music director, K.P. Dennis!

As is the norm at Story Stitchers though, we anticipate that it is the Stitchers Teen Council and the new teens recruited through open auditions this month that will steal the show. We are humbled by the raw honesty, the drive, ambition and artistic craft of the teens. If you want to learn more about what is in the minds and hearts of St. Louis youth and be entertained, laugh, cry  and hope with them — then look no further.

Come and experience St. Louis through the stories of others and let the weight of their words change your understanding of the world.

Family-friendly, fun and unforgettable!

Funds raised will support the ongoing mission of the Saint Louis Story Stitchers Artists Collective, a public charity. The Saint Louis Story Stitchers are professional artists and urban youth grades 7-12, working together to create positive social change. We collect local stories and reframe and retell them through art, writing and performance to promote understanding, civic pride, intergenerational relationships and literacy. We are artists-in-residence at Kranzberg Arts Center in vibrant Grand Center.

Projects create a platform for community engagement through an artistic lens and with it the Saint Louis Story Stitchers work to shift perceptions and realities and bring hope to the Saint Louis community. For more information visit storystitchers.org
