Story Stitchers awoke on February 14th to a snowy Valentine’s Day and although Project Perception: A Reality Runway Show got off to a late start, it did end with big applause and melted hearts! Stitchers Teen Council members walked the Runway at Kranzberg Arts Center’s beautiful Studio Theater to show off individual styles and to remind all that its what’s inside a person’s heart that matters most.

Design experts Qristyl Frazier from Qristyl Frazier Designs and Susan Block from The Designing Block, together with a full committee from the Collective, helped to organize the show and keep it running. K.P. Dennis was amazing and performed his theme song for the Story Stitchers Black History Month celebrations, Perception Isn’t Always Reality, followed by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a song he wrote that chronicles the great man’s life. His son, Toryon, helped get the crowd going!

Each teen walked as both a true and a false statement were read aloud about them. Audience members voted on which statement was true. After ballots were counted Breeayra received 1st place for doing the best job fooling the audience, followed by Emeara at 2nd place, Tre at 3rd, and Chelsea receive the Director’s Award for her great attitude! Congrats Teens on a job well done!!

Stay tuned for the video highlights, coming soon!
