WHEN: LIVE AUDITIONS:
Saturday, March 5, 10:00-1:00 Decisions will be announced Monday, March 7. Decisions of the judges are final.
CONCERT: Saturday, March 19, ALL Performers 10:00-4:00; Public Concert 2:00-4:00
WHO: Students in grades 7 – 12 in St. Louis city or county.
WHAT: Compete for 5 open slots for teenage performers in the Story Stitchers Annual Benefit Concert, The Weight of Words through live audition.
WHERE: Kranzberg Arts Center’s Studio Theater
501 N Grand Blvd., in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Building in Grand Center Arts District
REQUIREMENTS: Original work that is in line with the Story Stitchers mission to promote understanding, civic pride, intergenerational relationships and literacy. Work must be family-friendly. The concert will feature a variety of adult and teen acts and if chosen, you will need to enter and exit the stage quickly and easily in an organized and rehearsed way. Winning acts will take this into consideration and show this in their audition. Music or spoken word only. Parent or guardian must accompany each youth performer and give written consent. Studio Theater with piano on stage. Teacher reference is a plus!
