This is the first single on the new Saint Louis Story Stitchers label! It was recorded in September, 2015 at Sawhorse Studios in Saint Louis, Missouri.
A full 50% of the proceeds from the new label will help to fund the charitable work of the Story Stitchers. K.P., who also serves as music director for the Story Stitchers, will be recruiting additional talent to help us build this important label. Gunshots!! was created in part during workshops on gun violence prevention at the Stitchers Storefront Studio and was premiered live at Washington University on September 17th at the Guns in the Hands of Artists exhibition Artists’ Panel.
Mr. K.P. Dennis dedicated the song to Jacobi Taylor, his young nephew, who was lost to senseless gun violence at age 21 just this past summer.
The brilliant third verse of K.P.’s song, Gunshots!! describes in rap the 10 things we can all do to combat gun violence, as recommended by St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce on her website: www.stlouisguncrime.com/

Help a struggling parent…. Whose burdens weigh a ton!
Become a mentor “earn and learn” hire the young!
