After a morning music rehearsal with Mr. KP for the new songs about gun violence prevention, Stitchers Teens Council members, joined by teen honorees from the 2015 Youth Art and Writing Contest, settled in for a workshop with Visiting Artist Addoley Dzegede. Addoley is an impressive and accomplished artist, Washington University MFA’15, whose work is marked by superior craftsmanship and thoughtful content.  Addoley’s visit was Workshop #5 of the Curating Teen Voices: Coming of Age series, led by Mariana Parisca. Teens learned about bookbinding tools, patterns and techniques and started creating their own unique objects. The group reflected on the creative use of basic techniques they saw in a variety of artists’ books at the visit to the Olin Library’s Special Collections earlier in the workshop series.
