Stitchers Teen Council members enjoyed a full day hosted by the Washington University Admissions Office including a tour of the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts studios with Washington University admissions staff member Mariana Parisca, BFA ’15. Akousa Yeboah, Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions and two current Washington U students, led an insightful presentation and discussion which helped to define a clearer path to accessing higher education. The day included a campus-wide walking tour and much more.
The teens learned much about the path that can lead to higher education and what they can do now as high school students to set themselves up for college admission and scholarships including talking to their HS counselor and a favorite teacher about their intentions of becoming college-bound, the importance of challenging themselves in their current coursework and keeping their GPA’s up, and that being active community leaders can sometimes ultimately make a bigger difference to their applications than their ACT scores.
Story Stitchers give a big SHOUT OUT! and THANK YOU to everyone at Washington University Admissions Office! We had a great day!
