Curating Teen Voices: Coming of Age Workshop Series began August 8th at Washington University’s Olin Library Special Collections. Seven enrolled teens selected from the Stitchers Teen Council and honorees from the Story Stitchers Youth Art & Writing Contest 2015 and their families were greeted by Mariana Parisca, Workshop Series coordinator and Story Stitchers Artist-in-Residence.

Buzz Spector, Professor of Art at the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University led a discussion that focused on storytelling and physical and conceptual details and themes in the wide variety of artist made books on display in the room. Participants handled the books and examined details in construction and technique of the artist made books.

Our special thanks to Professor Spector and to Joel Minor, Curator of Modern Literature and Collection and Kelly Brown, Special Collections Assistant for organizing the display of very beautiful books.
